DEMO & RECORDING PACKAGES FACT SHEET
We want you to be educated on the process of recording a demo.
Review our step-by-step process below to see all that is entailed.
The Process
- Complete and submit a Demo Recording Request Form.
- We will issue you a contract and a deposit will be due at that time.
- Once we receive your completed Request Form, we will first schedule your pre-production sessions with our resident vocal/performance coach based on availability and your specifications.
- Artist will complete his/her pre-production sessions with the coach.
- When the pre-production sessions are completed, we will schedule your recording sessions at the recording studio based on availability and your specifications.
- Artist will complete his/her recording sessions with the producer at the recording studio.
(parents are encouraged to stay for the recording sessions)
- The producer will mix and master the final project with the studio engineer. This may be done with or without the artist.
- When mixing and mastering is complete, the Master copy is ready for the Graphic Art Design and duplication.
- Artist & producer will meet with the graphic artist to select backgrounds and themes for the Master copy. (Amateur Package)
- We will schedule the photo shoot with our photographer for Head Shot, backgrounds, and theme selection. (Pre-professional & Professional Packages)
- The Master Copy & final packaging is ready for duplication.
- We will present you with copies of your CD’s!
Please anticipate that a 60 Day turn around is the standard. You may, however, request a “Rush Order” to have your project completed within 30 days for an additional charge.
Recording Glossary
- Coach: (vocal/performance) A vocal or performance coach will coach the vocalist in fine-tuning their overall performance. The coach will prepare the vocalist for recording sessions through education, technique, song interpretation, and creativity. A must for all recording artist!
- Duplication: The art of duplicating Master Copies of the final project.
- Graphic Design: Graphic design is the applied art of arranging image and text to communicate a message. It may be applied in any media, such as print, digital media, motion pictures, animation, product decoration, packaging, and signs.
- Mastering: Audio mastering is the process of preparing and transferring recorded audio to a medium for future duplication. The specific medium that receives the mastered audio varies, depending on the intended release format of the final product. This medium is then used as the master copy, from which all further production of the audio material will be based.
- Mixing: Audio mixing is used in sound recording, audio editing and sound systems to balance the relative volume and frequency content of a number of sound sources.
- Performance Tracks: Are fully produced tracks with full instrumental accompaniment and no vocals.
- Pre-production: Involves all initial stages leading up to the start of recording. Such as training, rehearsals, coaching, and all the initial preparation needed to ensure the team works rapidly throughout the production.
- Producer: The "director' of an audio recording project responsible to get a final product of desired quality within a budget.
- Recording: Is the electrical or mechanical re-creation and/or amplification of sound, often as music. This involves the use of audio equipment such as microphones, recording devices and loudspeakers.
